Proudly American Made
Sticks, Inc. is an American-made company rooted in tradition and artistry. Founded in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1992 by Sarah Grant, Sticks has grown from crafting small folk art decorative items to becoming a nationally recognized design studio specializing in handcrafted furniture, accessories, and object art. Every piece is thoughtfully created at our Iowa workshop, emphasizing the use of high-quality woods such as birch, poplar, and driftwood sourced from nearby waterways, which underscores our commitment to American craftsmanship and authenticity.
Our ethos revolves around creating one-of-a-kind art and furniture that not only stands out for its distinctive style but also tells a story and fosters a sense of connection and legacy. Our artists at Sticks use traditional techniques like hand-drawn imagery, wood burning, and vibrant painting to ensure that each item is unique. Over the years, we've expanded our offerings to include a wide range of products from home accessories to large-scale furniture and art installations – all while maintaining a dedication to American manufacturing and supporting local artists and makers.
Today, Sticks remains a female and family-operated business, with our products represented in top American craft galleries across the country. Our gallery in Des Moines, open since 2002, showcases not only Sticks’ creations but also the work of over 150 other American artists, further emphasizing our role as a champion of creativity and quality. By continuing to innovate and adapt while honoring our American-made roots, Sticks highlights the power art has to inspire and connect individuals, friends, and family through familar creations.
