Frequently asked questions regarding Sticks and our art –

Q. Can Sticks plaques be used as trivets?
A. 
No, please just display them as art! Our partner Studio Vertu does make trivets using our artwork though, you can shop for them here.

Q. Should I order a piece of glass to put on my Sticks table or lazy susan?
A. 
No, we kindly request you not place glass on top of our products - it can ruin the artwork! Any damage resulting from using glass is your responsibility.

Q. How do I care for my Sticks pieces? 
A. 
All Sticks furniture is multi-coated with low VOC water based polyurethane to provide a durable finish that can withstand everyday usage for a long time to come. We recommend using mild soap and water with a soft non abrasive rag to clean your piece. Non-abrasive, non-alcohol and non-ammonia based household cleaning products can also be used; however, avoid letting cleaning solutions and/or moisture sit on your piece for extended periods of time. Avoid direct contact with extreme heat and use hot pads for warm and hot plates. We also recommend against high amounts of sun to prevent fading as the polyurethane finish does not have UV protective qualities.

Q. How do I care for my Sticks Leather pieces? 
A.
All Sticks leather products are treated with an industrial top coat that seals and protects our stitched and painted artwork. To clean any of our leather products, simply use a lightly water dampened soft cloth. For difficult to remove stains, try a warm water on a dampened cloth. Sticks doesn't recommend use of leather conditioner or any type of soap or cleaning product.  With years of regular use, the top coat can eventually ware off.  Sticks, or a qualified furniture repair specialist can respray a fresh top coat on to add life to your Sticks leather product.  If you have any questions or concerns about leather care or leather restoration services, contact us at onlinesales@sticks.com

Do Sticks products require periodic refinishing?
A.
All wooden furniture that has any type of protective top-coat will require refinishing periodically depending on ware.  The top-coat we use is water based polyurethane satin which is sprayed on using a professional air assist spray gun system in a commercial spray booth.  Any professional furniture re-finisher could lightly sand down your Sticks piece and multi-coat spray on fresh coats of finish. If you decide to have your furniture refinished by a professional, please have them contact us directly for guidance. Sticks can also provide furniture refinishing services which are quoted on a per instance basis. If you have any questions, please contact us at onlinesales@sticks.com and if applicable, include photos of your piece, and the 5 digit alphanumeric job order number on the back or underside of your Sticks product.

Q. Where can I find Sticks products? 
A. Sticks is represented by American Craft galleries from coast to coast. To find the gallery nearest you, enter your zip code or state in the Retail Locator at the top right or lower left of every page. In the event that there is not a Sticks retailer in your area, please call 877-678-4257, and we will be happy to provide you with gallery information.

Can I customize any product to the theme, design, imagery and color palette of my choice? 
A. Sticks is happy to customize any piece we make. Custom orders need to be placed through one of our many retail galleries. We do this because we like to drive traffic back to those fellow small, locally owned businesses that carry our line. They can give you the personal attention you and your order deserve. You can locate the gallery location nearest you by using the Retail Locator at the top right or bottom left of this page to enter your state or zip code.
Our artists do their very best to incorporate your ideas onto our pieces, but we do reserve the artistic license to preserve the Sticks look. Upon receipt of a custom order, our retail galleries can provide you with pricing and estimated delivery of your piece. Q.
Can I use team names, logos, celebrities, etc. on my piece? 
A. Expressed written permission by an authorized party is required to incorporate copyright protected material onto our pieces.

. Can I use Sticks furniture and accessories outside? 
A. Sticks furniture and accessories are designed to be displayed indoors. If our product is exposed to the outdoor elements, we cannot guarantee the longevity and craftsmanship of our work.

Q. Will the natural logs used jeopardize the quality of my Sticks piece?
A. If the Sticks piece you're interested in or already have utilizes found driftwood from our local Iowa waterways, rest assured the art and structural integrity is safe. We would never send out a product we don’t stand behind. That being said, cracks and imperfections are to be expected. We consider these features natural charm and are not reasons we would discard a log. Because it is a natural, organic material you may notice cracks fluctuate based on the humidity and other conditions in your home and are outside of our control.
